A new website for a German medical-law association. Events, publications and member information, rebuilt from WordPress as a fast static site.
The brief
The association’s WordPress site was slow and hard to maintain. Most readers are practitioners who sign up for events by email, so the new site had to be clear, readable and keep every old link working.
What I built
- Self-updating event archive. Events sort into upcoming and past at build time, and a nightly rebuild moves finished events into the archive.
- Payment QR codes. Each event page carries a GiroCode, so banking apps prefill the fee transfer.
- Nothing breaks. Every old WordPress URL redirects to its new page. A scraper migrated 23 events and 67 publications.
- Findable. Structured data for events and articles, a sitemap,
llms.txtand full-text search with Pagefind. No tracking, so no cookie banner.
